Prayer For The Year Of Consecrated Life

YearOfConsecratedLifeGod, our Father, we thank you for the gift of Consecrated life. We thank you for the men and women that have made themselves available to follow your Son, Jesus Christ, chaste, poor and obedient. During this year of Consecrated life we are infinitely grateful for your love, favour and mercy upon them. Renew your spirit in them. Comfort them in the challenges of their vocation. Endow them with all the graces needed to work and pray joyfully. Grant them peace as they serve you in their neighbours. Forgive their inadequacies and imperfections. Enrich them in their poverty, love them in their chastity and lighten their hearts in obedience to you. Grant them fidelity to the patrimony and charism of their institutes. Make them true witnesses of your beloved Son. May their lives teach us to make a more loving offering of ourselves to you. Mary, mother of God, first Discipline of Christ, model and patron of every consecrated life. Pray for us.

Prayer For Nigeria In Distress
All powerful and merciful Father, you are the God of justice, love and peace. You rule over all the nations of the earth. Power and might are in your hands and no one can withstand you; we present our country Nigeria before you. We praise and thank you for you are the source of all we have and are. We are sorry for all the sins we have committed and for the good deeds we have failed to do.
In your loving forgiveness, keep us safe from the punishment we deserve. Lord, we are weighed down not only by uncertainties but also by moral, economic and political problems. Listen to the cries of your people who confidently turn to you. God of infinite goodness, our strength in adversity, our health in weakness, our comfort in sorrow, be merciful to your people. Spare this nation, Nigeria, from chaos, anarchy and doom. Bless us with your kingdom of Justice love and peace. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Holy Family.
Prayer For Archdiocesan Year of the Family

Almighty God, from whom every family on earth receives its name. In the beginning, you ordained that man and woman should come together in marriage as husband and wife, to form a family built on love and respect for life and one another. We acknowledge that often times our families have not lived up to the ideals of Christ. In this Year of the Family, we ask you to forgive us our failings, renew your spirit in us and accompany us through all the challenges we face as families. Help us by your grace, to make our homes a Domestic Church - where faith, love, forgiveness, justice and peace reign so that each menber of our families will be led to a personal conversion and intimate friendship with Christ. May our lives be centerd on your Word anfd the Eucharist as we become bearers of Christ and the light of his Gospel to our children and to all those around us. May the Holy Family of Nazareth inspire and assist us in this savred task, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYERS BEFORE HOLY COMMUNION

AN ACT OF FAITH
Lord Jesus Christ, You have said, "My Flesh is food indeed." I firmly believe that You are present in this Blessed Sacrament as true God and true Man, with Your Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. My Redeemer and my Judge, together with the angels and saints I adore Your Divine Majesty. I believe, O Lord; increase my faith.
AN ACT OF DESIRE
Jesus, my God, thou art infinitely good and perfect. I love Thee above all things and with my whole heart. I desire to receive Thee in Holy Communion that I may love Thee more and serve Thee better. Come to me and strength me, so that I may never be separated from Thee on earth and that I may live with Thee eternally in heaven.
AN ACT OF CONTRITION
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell. But most of all because I have offended you, may God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. i firmly resolve with the help of your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life. Amen.
